Class 4 — cars & small vans
Cars (up to 8 passenger seats), motor caravans, private hire and light goods vehicles up to 3,000kg design weight — the everyday family car, the small van and the motorhome.
Cars, vans and light commercials tested on-site at our Acton workshop. As an independent, Ford-specialist garage we tell you exactly what your vehicle needs — no inventing failures, no pressure to spend more than you have to.
Which class do you need?
Every vehicle over three years old needs an MOT each year by law. The class depends on what the vehicle is and how heavy it is — and not every garage can test both. We're approved for Class 4 and Class 7, so whatever you drive or run for work, we can test it on-site.

Goods vehicles between 3,000kg and 3,500kg design weight — Transit-sized vans, tippers and larger light commercials. Few local stations test Class 7; we do.

The test
Roller-brake tested and inspected for wear, imbalance and condition.
Tread depth, condition, size and secure fitment checked against the legal limits.
All lamps, aim, wipers and washers — including daytime running lights and ADAS-related warnings.
Emissions tested to the correct standard for your vehicle's fuel, age and Euro class.
Sills, chassis mounts, corrosion and general structural condition examined.
Belts, horn, VIN and mirrors checked so the paperwork is right too.
On the day
Call or drop in — we'll find a time that suits you, and MOTs can usually be booked while you wait.
Your vehicle goes through the full Class 4 or Class 7 MOT inspection on our on-site test lane.
Pass or fail, we show you exactly what the result means. If anything needs attention, you decide what happens next.
Minor issues can often be fixed on the spot and retested. Free retest within the legal window.
If your vehicle does fail, we carry out the repairs in-house — brakes, clutches, suspension, tyres, exhausts, welding and engine work — so it never has to travel far to be sorted.
